Imphal, October 19 2024: The 'JAC against the brutal killing of Laishram Johnson & Torture of Elam Roshan' organised sit-in protest at Laipham Khunou Maning Leikai community hall on Saturday demanding justice for Laishram Johnson, who was beaten to death by unknown persons, and Elam Roshan, currently undergoing treatment at Shija hospitals.

The protestors put on display placards with slogans demanding arrest of the culprits, justice to the victims, government assistance in treatment of the injured Roshan among others.

Speaking on the sidelines of the sit-in, JAC co-convenor Leimapokpam Nolini Leima decried government authorities' indifferent attitude in investigating the case and taking up necessary actions against the culprits as proposed in their memorandum.

The government had assured to honour the demands, including arrest of the culprits involved, assist the family of the deceased and the injured, she recalled adding that none of the promises have been fulfilled yet.

Cautioning of launching intense protest, she said that Johnson's body will not be claimed till fulfilment of their demands.
