Bishwajit selected for 54th IFFI

Shamurailatpam Bishwajit Sharma, who hails from Bishnupur Makha Leikai and is the son of Phurailatpam Brajamuhini Devi, is set to feature among the "75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow" at the 54th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) organised by National Film Development Corporation Ltd (NFDC) under the sponsorship of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Scheduled to be held from November 18 to 26, the event promises an enriching experience for the selected participants.
Bishwajit Sharma will be special guest of the union minister of information and broadcasting, Anurag Singh Thakur, in the opening ceremony.
A key highlight of the programme is the "48-hour Filmmaking Challenge," wherein the 75 Creative Minds will test their creativity by producing a short film under tight deadlines.
This competition, a collaboration between NFDC and Shorts International, UK, will provide a unique platform to express their interpretation of "Mission Life".
Participants will engage with luminaries from the Indian Film Industry, network with established personalities, and explore the intricacies of the business at Film Bazaar, IF'FI's Business arm.
The guided tour will offer insights into various elements such as co-production market, work in progress lab, viewing room, screenwriters' lab, market screenings, producers' workshop, knowledge series, and book to box office.
As part of the CMOT Talent Camp, participants will pitch their ideas, concepts, skills and previous works to industry leaders, potentially opening doors to employment opportunities within the film industry.
Special master classes, tailored for the 75 Creative Minds, will further enhance their knowledge and skills.
NFDC has also organised a virtual master class with Florian Weghorn, program manager, Berlinale Talents, who will share insights into utilising "Film Festivals as a Launchpad for new Talent".
This recognition and the associated opportunities represent a rare chance for participants to learn, network, and enter the film industry through established channels.
