A threshing machine caught fire while in operation in Phayeng Awang Leikai under Lamsang police station on Tuesday around 5 pm.
Yet-to-be harvested paddy crops of around a Loukhai (.32 acre) were also burned in the incident.
The paddy farm, which measures around 1.26 acres, belongs to one Angom Ingocha of Phayeng Nongpok Leikai.
Around three quarters of the paddy crops were threshed and bundled when the machine caught fire resulting in loss of the machine and the remaining quarter of paddy crops even though local people managed to put out the fire from spreading to the nearby area.
