Bar associations, TNL call on Governor

Imphal, July 12 2025: Representatives from various hill district Bar Associations met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan on Saturday to discuss challenges in judicial proceedings across the hill districts.

In a release, PRO Raj Bhavan informed that during the meeting, the delegation highlighted the acute shortage of judicial infrastructure in several hill areas and appealed for the Governor's intervention in resolving these long-standing issues.

The Governor gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised and assured the representatives that appropriate steps would be taken to address the matters.

The commissioner (law) was also present at the meeting, it stated.

Meanwhile, members of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), led by its president Sword Vashum, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan on Saturday and submitted a memorandum highlighting several key concerns affecting the community, the release further said, while adding that the Governor assured the Tangkhul body of action after reviewing their concerns.
