Licypriya exhorts youth to act on climate change

The second day of the 3-day Swachhta Student Camp organised at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, witnessed an inspiring address by Licypriya Kangujam, one of the world's youngest climate activists and founder of The Child Movement.
According to a press release issued by the RIMS Media Cell, Licypriya exhorted the young attendees to take collective action against climate change and highlighted the crucial role of young people in shaping a sustainable future.
Licypriya drew the attention of the gathering to the urgent need to act against the devastating impacts of climate change and environmental degradation and called upon the participants to adopt sustainable practices and policies to safeguard the planet for future generations.
The release further informed that the day also included expert sessions on "Waste Management & Segregation and Climate Change", focusing on the importance of responsible environmental behaviour.
A thought-provoking panel discussion titled "How Young Minds Can Contribute to a Healthier Society" showcased the innovative ideas and enthusiasm of young participants.
The event also advocated for the adoption of 'Plastic-Free Practices' to tackle plastic pollution.
Interactive activities such as a Poster and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme "Plastic-Free Society" were conducted, allowing participants to showcase their creativity and passion for environmental conservation, the release added.
