MCIC conducts awareness on fortified rice

Imphal, October 16 2022: Manipur Cultural Integration Conference (MCIC) celebrated its 56th foundation day along with conducting an awareness programme on fortified rice at its office premises, Palace Compound, here, on Sunday.

Attending the event as chief guest, Social Welfare joint director (ICDS) Bantee Singh Konthoujam hailed the role played by MCIC in bringing closer the hill and valley people, as well as its contribution in the establishment of RIMS, MU, NSU and CAU.

He said that MCIC has been also playing crucial roles either directly or indirectly in bringing positive changes in the society.

Regarding fortified rice policy, he said that the PM Modi government is taking up initiatives to address the issue of malnutrition in the country by the end of 2022 and national nutrition month is held every year in September.

Fortified rice is an initiative to fortify rice distributed to the public through government schemes in order to solve the malnutrition problem, he said.
