Imphal, April 13 2025: Ningthoujam Tomba Meitei, a veteran CPI(M) leader and companion of Hijam Irawat, has died at the ripe age of 102 .

N Tomba breathed his last at his residence at Uyumpok Maning Leikai, Imphal East today.

He was also a member of Sanamahi Temple Board.

Mourning his demise, the CPI(M) flag was flown at half-mast.

In a statement, CPI(M) said N Tomba was a companion of Hijam Irawat and he took part various movements aimed at welfare of the State and farmers' community.

The last rites of N Tomba were held at Yaibirel Home ground, Keibi Sanapat this morning.

State CPI(M) leaders including its secretary, Ksh Shanta, Manipur Loumi Marup secretary Sarat Salam, members of Sanamahi Temple Board attended the last rites ceremony.

The attendees observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
