AR sets up Indigenous Library at Gospel centre

TML: As part of Op Sadbhavana, Assam Rifles inaugurated an Indigenous Library and Resource Centre on Wednesday at the Zeliangrong Evangelistic Fellowship Gospel Centre in Tamenglong district headquarters.
The initiative, the first of its kind in Tamenglong, aims at preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage and knowledge of the Indigenous communities in the North East region of India.
The inauguration was witnessed by about 200 people, including local leaders, civil society organisations and representatives from the Education Department of the civil administration.
The centre will house extensive collection of books and research materials reflecting the diverse traditions, languages, and histories of Indigenous peoples.
Additionally, it features advanced research infrastructure focused on pedagogy and offers digital accessibility to online resources.
During the event, speakers from the Gospel Centre and local leaders highlighted the significance of the initiative: They described the Indigenous Library and Resource Centre as a testament to the Assam Rifles' dedication to preserving the invaluable contributions of Indigenous communities, fostering a connection between culture and education, and inspiring future generations.
