Sit-in protests unaffordable monetary demand

Teaching and non-teaching staff of Kha Manipur College, Kakching staged sit-in protest at the College's Administrative Block on Thursday demanding not to make unaffordable monetary demand, threaten teachers and staff but allow them to teach students in peace.
During the protest organised by Kha Manipur College Staff Welfare Association, the agitators held placards asking all concerned to refrain from placing unaffordable demands, not to intimidate the staff members, help authorities maintain academic atmosphere of the college, etc.
Speaking to media persons, one of the teachers lamented that colleges in the state have been receiving demands for cash and kind by various groups consequently affecting and demoralising the staff and faculty members.
As such, they were compelled to protest in endorsement of the campaign under Disturbance Free Education Zone Demand Day-2024 launched bycombined body of 14 organisations including All Manipur College Teachers' Association and student bodies, the teacher mentioned.
