Imphal, May 22 2024:
The Joint Students' Co-ordinating Body (JSCC), which comprises Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) and another students' body, has urged the state government to provide special package for pre-primary, primary, upper primary, high school and higher secondary students affected by the ongoing conflict.
In a release, JSCC convenor Hijam Roshan Singh pointed out that the students displaced by the ethnic conflict and sheltered in relief camps are facing various inconveniences and inadequacies consequently distracting them from focusing on academic pursuits.
There are around 11,631 displaced students taking shelter in 293 relief camps, he revealed, while urging authorities concerned to look into the matter.
The convenor further informed that JSCC visited the relief camps set up at Phubala High School, Sunusiphai and Mangol-nganbi College and distributed stationery items, including text books on Wednesday.
