National Library Week observed

Imphal, November 16 2024: State Central Library, Imphal in association with the Department of Art & Culture and Manipur Library Association (MALA) observed "National Library Week" at the auditorium of State Central Library, Imphal on Friday.

The event was attended by Dr Ch Ibohal Singh, Head, Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS), Manipur University; RK Urmila Devi, Chief Librarian, State Central Library and RK Rameshwor Singh, president, MALA as presidium members.

At the event, Dr Th Khomdon Singh, Librarian, Manipur University of Culture and MALA ex-presidents K Inaocha Singh and L Sabita Devi elaborated on the importance of observing Library Week, benefits of reading books and role of Librarians.

Meanwhile, Imphal Book Fair (IBF) Organising Committee has invited applications from intending reputed book firms/companies/agencies for booking stalls for the 31st Imphal Book Fair, 2024 scheduled to be held from December 15 to 24 at State Central Library, Imphal, and Manipur State Archives campus.

In a release, RK Urmila Devi, Chief Librarian of State Central Library Informed that the registration for booking stalls will begin from November 15, 2024.The last date for registration is December 5, 2024 .
