Imphal, July 12 2025:
Colonel IS Chanam - a retired Army officer and veteran of the 1962 India-China War and the 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan Wars - gifted copies of his book titled 'China in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir' to the State Central Library, Imphal on Saturday.
Chief librarian of the State Central Library, Dr Rajkumari Urmila Devi formally received the books on behalf of the institution.
The book, available on Amazon, Flipkart and Shashwat Publication, explores the historical and geopolitical developments that led to a part of Jammu and Kashmir falling into the hands of Pakistan, allegedly with British support.
It provides a detailed analysis of the region referred to by India as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), which the United Nations Security Council terms as Pakistan Administered Kashmir, and Pakistan calls 'Azad Kashmir' .
The author highlights how the territory now serves as a strategic landbridge between Pakistan and China, with increasing Chinese presence including the deployment of PLA troops.
It also delves into the growing military cooperation between the two nations, including Chinese naval activity at Gwadar Port in the Arabian Sea, portraying India's dual-front threat from both its western and northern neighbours.
