Mahila Congress launches Nari Nyay Shakti campaign

Imphal, February 06 2024: As part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra launched by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee kicked off the Nari Nyay campaign at Congress Bhawan, on Tuesday.

The campaign held under the aegis of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, was launched by Mahila Committee president Mutum Sharma.

Women members of the committee took part in the campaign.

Speaking at the launch function, Mutum Sharma expressed that similar to Rahul Gandhi currently undertaking the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to ensure justice to youth, women, farmers, labourers, etc., the Nari Nyay Shakti campaign is aimed at improving economic, social, education, health and political status of women in addition to eradicating crime committed against them.

She further said that the status of women has suffered during the time of BJP rule as is evident from the increase in economic dependency of women.

Pregnant women are finding it hard to get their essential nutrients intake, lack of health care benefits and education have also increased, the president maintained.

The campaign will identify the problems faced by the women and try to provide solutions, she said.
