DMU advised to address students' complaints

Taking note of the complaints from the constituent colleges, the state government has advised Dhanamanjuri University to take up necessary measures with immediate effect considering the future of the students of the state.
In a letter to Dhanamanjuri University registrar, the Higher & Technical Education Department joint secretary advised to notify exam results immediately and make necessary documents available to enable the students apply for scholarships through the NSP portal.
Appointment of dean may be made from the faculty as per seniority, it continued.
As most of the complaints were related to conduct of exams timely, accuracy in the results and its timely notification, a faculty may be assigned the responsibility of Controller of Examinations without other assignment, the letter said.
It also advised to take up immediate steps to appoint regular principals of constituent colleges, wherever vacant as per UGC norms.
DMU should advise its faculty to take online classes, beyond college hours to make up the time lost due to closure of colleges and make available notes and other reading material available on the DMU web portal, SWAYAM, etc.
An SOP or written protocol to be followed regarding verification of scholarship claims may be issued by DMU, it continued, while adding that decision on the mode of exam may be taken by DMU as deemed appropriate.
DMU may also decide on establishment of students' union of its PG students.
The issue relating to waiving examination fee and other charges will be decided in consultation with the finance department, added the letter.
