U-14 cricket: SSC, PCC, SHADOW, YWC register wins

Imphal, February 06 2024:
SSC, Porompat; PCC, Mayai Koibi; SHADOW, Thangmeiband; and YWC Langthabal won their respective matches in the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys' Tournament 2023-24 on Tuesday.
In Group C match played at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, SSC defeated AL-AMEEN, Lilong by 10 runs.
Put in to bat, SSC scored 140/9 in 30 overs with the help of 62 extra runs as only Ashif (19) and Ajman (16) managed to make notable contribution.
Md Duwa Aziz, Md Ashique and Raqib Nongjaimayum took one wicket each for AL-AMEEN.
AL-AMEEN's chase ended at 130 in 22.4 overs with efforts of Amir Malik (29) and Arish (14) failing short of the target set, as Ashif and Nadir claimed 3 wickets each, Jaheer scalped two and Saddique bagged of wicket for SSC.
In Group D match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, PCC trounced SU, Sagolband by 140 runs through DLS method as the match was reduced to 14.4 overs.
PCC opted to bat first and piled a mammoth 332/6 in 30 overs riding on Lucky Thok-chom's 171 and Pravin Kumar's 53 not out, while SU's Nongam Rajkumar took 2 wickets and Philan Rajkumar and Sagolsem Hemjit Singh accounted for one wicket each.
Set a revised target of 192 runs based on DLS method, the SU run chase ended at 51 for the loss of 4 wickets in the designated 14.4 overs with Devraj Sorokhaibam (11) and Keisham Anderson (12 not out) the only major contributors.
For PCC, Pravin Kumar claimed two wickets and Rojer Laishram and Lamnganba Nongmaithem one each.
In Group A, SHADOW beat TCMDC, Thongju by 18 runs at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband.
Put to bat first, SHADOW compiled 149 runs for 5 wickets in 25 overs with captain Yo-henba Konjengbam scoring 48 and James Sahu contributing 51 (not out), as Dipachandra Sagolsem scalped 3 wickets and Nongthombam Ajit Singh 2 wickets for TCMDC.
In reply, TCMDC were bundled out for only 131 in 24.1 over as Nongthombam Ajit Singh (39) and Vishonath Laishram (33) delayed the inevitable.
The SHADOW attack was spearheaded by Arubam Goshan Singh and James Sahu, who claimed 2 wickets each as Sagatpam Telheiba and Kh Devis accounted for one each.
In Group B, YWC, Langthabal defeated YPHUC, Lalambung by 6 wickets at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part-IV.
Put in to bat first, YPHUC crawled to 96 all out in 21.4 overs riding on captain Irom Ishor's 35 run knock as YWC's Kelvinson Khoisam accounted for 4 wickets, Seram Indrakumar and Seram Bidyachandra claimed two each and Leishangthem Chingthang one.
YWC overhauled the target in 15.5 overs for the loss of four wickets with Daneil Seram (28) and Indrakumar Singh Sanjenbam (23 not out) ensuring the comfortable victory despite the heroics from Irom Ishor who claimed all four wickets for YPHUC.
