Boot camp on drone handling, repairing underway

Imphal, June 19 2024:
A 5-day boot camp on the theme "Construction of Autonomous Multirotor UAV for Obstacle Avoidance" organised jointly by Manipur Technology Innovation HUB (MTI-HUB) and National Institution of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal, commenced from Wednesday at MIT-HUB IT Park, Mantripukhri.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by NIELIT director N Debachandra, MTI-HUB Computer Science Department head Haobijam Saratchandra and NIELIT joint director and co-ordinator Rk Bigensana as presidium members.
In his address, Bigensana said that the training programme will feature sessions by experts on basics of drone handling, assembly, repair, and programming.
While noting increase in usage of drones in the state but without commensurate repairing centres, he said NIELIT, Imphal and NIT, Silchar have been selected from the Northeast among a few institutes in India to conduct the training camp.
