Imphal, June 01 2025:
Democratic geopie's Front (DPF) has opined that efforts to rescue the people from flood affected areas are mostly being carried out by members and volunteers of civil society organisations rather than authorities concerned.
In a release, DPF general secretary Sapam Sovaschandra Singh stated that measures taken up by the government amid the flood situation is not satisfactory while only a handful of MLAs are extending assistance to the government, terming such lackadaisical attitude as very shameful.
While pointing out that the number of relief camps set up at present for the flood-affected people will not be sufficient, the general secretary urged the authorities concerned to speed up relief and rescue efforts and further appealed to the unaffected section of the population to extend all possible assistance to the government in carrying out rescue operations.
