SHRI conducts paediatric heart screening camp in Tripura

Imphal, April 29 2025:
Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital, Agartala, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), National Rural Health Mission, and Directorate of Health Services, Tripura, organised a one-day free 'Paediatric Heart Screening Camp' on Tuesday at IGM Hospital, Agartala.
According to a SHRI press release; a team of specialist cardiologists from Shija Hospitals conducted thorough outpatient consultations and echocardiographic (ECHO) screenings for children.
A total of 20 children were examined during the camp.
Following the screenings, several children were advised to undergo device closure procedures and will be referred to Shija Hospitals, Imphal for further treatment.
The camp focused on identifying congenital and acquired heart conditions in children displaying symptoms such as breathlessness, chest pain, unexplained fatigue, or poor weight gain, it added.
The hospital also thanked all partner organisations and healthcare workers for their contributions to the camp's success.
