Tree plantation drives conducted

Imphal, July 28 2024: As part of "Environment Project" under the first service project of the 2023-24 year of Lions Club of Imphal, a tree plantation drive on theme of "Upal ama Imagi mingda (One tree in the name of mother)" was carried out at Mahila Kalyan Children Home, Kabo Leikai on Sunday.

During the drive, ex-district 322 governor H Manipur delivered an awareness lecture.

Meanwhile, Hingminnaba Marup, Waiton organised the 5th tree plantation drive in and around the playground and pond of Waiton Maning Leikai on Sunday.

The drive was participated by IRS additional commissioner, Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs, Imphal West L Prabhunanda Singh; RIMS ex-senior resident Dr S Jackson; and Major VS Rishang, along with others.

On the other hand, Ibudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup and Central Forest Division jointly organised a tree plantation drive at the shrine of Ibudhou Marjing in Heingang on Sunday morning.

Rotary Club of Polo City, Imphal also organised a tree plantation programme at Dev Eco Garden, Patsoi on Sunday, as part of its ongoing yearly programme 'Go Green Manipur' held under the global Rotary slogan 'Plant Trees to Save the Environment & Earth'.

In a release, Rotary Club of Polo City, Imphal informed that the programme was attended by its president Elangbam Sovid, secretary Preshyojit Sangalakpam and other senior members.
