AR, Coast Guard JWG held in Shillong

The 5th meeting of Joint Working Group
(JWG) of Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard
was held at the headquarters of Directorate
General Assam Rifles, Laitkor (Shillong) on
Tuesday with DG AR lieutenant general PC
Nair chairing the meeting.
The delegation of
Indian Coast Guard consisted of DIGs Pankaj
Verma and Pramod Pokhriyal, and commandant
Ranjan Biswas.
The JJWG is conducted every year to enhance
inter force cooperation and integration after the
two premier border guarding forces of the nation
were formally affiliated with each other on May
22, 2019 at the DG Assam Rifles headquarters in
Laitkor, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release.
Informing that emphasis of the fifth JWG was
on greater understanding of operational ethos,
building camaraderie, utilisation of each other's
assets for training, sports and adventure, the PRO
said the meeting also aimed at understanding
the organisation and working ethos of each
other and imbibe the good practices from each
other for efficient completion of humanitarian
missions undertaken by both forces.
