KUM appeals for Quit Notice revocation

Imphal, October 19 2024: In response to a quit notice issued by the Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYOM) on Friday, the Kom Union Manipur (KUM) has urged for withdrawal of the ultimatum directed at all Kom communities.

In a statement, KUM expressed shock and dismay at the RNYOM's notice, describing it as 'unfortunate and unacceptable;.

It said that the notice, which was disseminated via social media and local newspapers, demanded that Kom communities vacate Rongmei jurisdiction within 48 hours.

The union emphasized that it was unaware of any disputes between Ichum Kom village and the Rongmei Naga communities that would warrant such drastic action and called for a reconsideration of the quit notice in the larger interest of all communities living in the state.
