AR distributes supplies; observes World Hindi Day

Imphal, January 11 2025:
Assam Rifles distributed essential ration supplies and relief materials to the residents of Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the distribution included food items, medical supplies, and other essential goods aimed at providing immediate relief and alleviating the hardships faced by the local population.
AR personnel worked closely with local agencies to ensure the timely delivery of aid, focusing on areas in urgent need of assistance.
A total of 90 villagers, including 40 males, 30 females, and 20 children, participated in the distribution of essential supplies, it added.
Meanwhile, AR observed World Hindi Day at Sajik Tampak village, Chandel district on Friday, another release by PRO IGAR (S) said.
The event began with an introduction on the significance of World Hindi Day, commemorating the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India in 1949.Various activities were organised, including 'Identify the Figure by Their Hindi Name' and a Hindi song competition.
Local school children participated in the events, showcasing their proficiency in Hindi through writing and singing competitions, it stated.
The release further informed that the initiative aimed to promote the importance of Hindi while fostering a sense of national pride and unity among the younger generation.
AR emphasised the role of World Hindi Day in bridging cultural gaps and strengthening national integration, highlighting the inclusivity and diversity it represents.
The programme encouraged children to embrace and appreciate India's rich linguistic heritage.
The event saw participation from 48 children from various villages.
These activities instilled pride and respect for the Hindi language among the young participants, it further said.
