AR conducts medical camp, renovates school

Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Aibol Joupi village in Chandel district on Tnursday to address the healthcare challenges faced by residents in remote area with limited medical facilities.
During the camp, Assam Rifles' medical officer and staff provided consultations, diagnostic services, and free medication to senior citizens, women, and children.
Emphasis was placed on preventive healthcare, including counselling on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention, benefiting 67 villagers, according to a release by PRO IGAR (S).
Assam Rifles also conducted an awareness lecture on adopting a healthy lifestyle at Kovang village, Chandel district, on Thursday, which was attended by 32 locals.
Key topics covered included balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and the importance of adequate sleep.
Assam Rifles' medical officer shared practical tips and techniques to help at tendees integrate healthier choices into their daily routines, said the PRO in another release, adding that the interactive session received an enthusiastic response from the villagers, who expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles inaugurated the renovated Kha Sanjenbam High School complex in Bishnupur district on Thursday as part of Operation Sadbhavana.
The renovation project, initiated in response to a request from the local community, addressed infrastructure challenges and improved the learning environment through classroom upgrades and the provision of essential amenities.
The ceremony was attended by village chief N Birjit Meetei, school principal Y Basu Singh, and 255 community members, who expressed their appreciation for the Assam Rifles' commitment to enhancing education in the region, said another release issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
