NSAL resolves to shut down Govt offices in Yairipok

In the wake of the brutal killing of six innocent hostages by Kuki militants, the Nongpok Sayang Apunba Lup (NSAL) held a general body meeting today and passed various resolutions including indefinite closure of Government and other related offices in Yairipok region.
Notably, NSAL is the apex body of 18 clubs from Chandrakhong to Thoubal Kshetrileikai.
The meeting unanimously resolved to i) enforce indefinite shutdown of Government and related offices with the exception of essential services such as fire, water, medical, electricity etc ii) demand State forces to lay down their arms as they are incapable of protecting the lives and modesty of the citizens iii) resignation of all Meitei MLAs and -Ministers in view of their inefficiency and failure to Safeguard the people iv) revocation of AFSPA which was recently reimposed in the jurisdiction of six police station areas v) restoration of Manipur to its pre-merger status as the Indian Government has failed to rein in the violence and vi) support the decisions taken by State CSOs.
The gathering also extended heartfelt condolences and grief at the brutal killing of the six innocent civilians.
