Imphal, July 12 2025:
Following successful talks with the Assam Oil Division of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL-AOD), the All Manipur Petroleum Product Drivers' Association called off its protest on Saturday, with several oil tankers leaving Imphal.
The association had launched the protest on July 4 after IOCL issued a notice mandating an additional driver and helper as per the Corporation's guidelines.
After a prolonged stalemate, lOCL-AOD's Malom office issued a notification on July 9, asking transporters to resume drawing oil and extending the directive until July 31.It also arranged a security convoy for empty tankers leaving Imphal on July 11, warning of legal action for non-compliance.
As transporters did not respond, IOCL officials held a meeting on Saturday, reaching an agreement to resume operations.
