Imphal, May 31 2025:
Kanglei People's Confederation, Manipur (KAPECON) staged a sit-in-protest Saturday at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai community hall demanding absolution to the Gwaltabi incident with active inter vention of the Governor in the interest of the people.
KAPECON convener Keithellakpam London fold media persons on the sidelines of the protest that the Governor cannot afford to slight the May 20 Gwaltabi incident of erasing the word 'Manipur' from Ma nipur State Transport bus by Mahar Regiment and should resolve it without further delay rather than remaining silent.
He also pointed out that the chief secretary's clarification regarding the in cident was not satisfactory and unacceptable, explaining that the same appeared to sideline the ongoing public protest.
According to London, KAPECON does not oppose the attempts being made by MLAs to form a new government amidst the ongoing protest but they should understand that the Gwaltabi issue would have been resolved already had they put in the same attention as their government formation efforts, He appealed the MLAs and Governor to work in unison to provide a resolution to the Gwaltabi issue.
