Workshop on honey processing held

A two-day Regional Level Workshop cum Training Programme on Honey Processing organised jointly by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bishnupur (Utlou) and Manipur Beekeepers' Federation was inaugurated at KVK, Utlou on Tuesday.
The inauguration programme of the training, conducted under the funding of NEC, Shillong, was attended by NABARD Manipur general manager Partha Mandal, ex-Union Minister and KVK, Utlou chairman Th Chaoba Singh, Manipur University CDC director Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Manipur Beekeepers' Federation president S Nilakamal and KVK, Bishnupur senior scientist and head Dr Kh Brajamani Meetei as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Partha Mandal highlighted that Manipur is among of the top producer of high-quality honey in India.
He also pointed out the need to further tap the potential, increase production of premium honey, and explore export opportunities, so to contribute to the economic development of the state.
He also assured that NABARD would provide all possible support
to help achieve the goal.
