IMC employees drop agitation plan

The proposed mass casual leave agitation of employees of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) over non-release of pending salaries, from Wednesday till May 24, has been withdrawn after an understanding with authorities concerned.
Imphal Municipal Corporation commissioner Joyce Kemp, deputy commissioners H Pradeep Kumar Singh and Th Rabindra, IMC officials and IMC Employees' Union president Ch Joykumar, general secretary L Lokendro, treasurer Th Ningthou attended an emergency meeting at the IMC conference hall here on Wednesday and reached an understanding.
The agreement was centred on IMC municipal commissioner and section heads apprising MAHUD director and commissioner for release of pending salary at the earliest; payment of salary for regular staff from compensation instead of octroi and 15 per cent of the fund to pensioner and muster roll staff on priority basis; provide salary of contractual staff from the balance fund after payment of salary and pension; initiative for improving source of revenue; withdrawal of mass casual leave stir planned from Wednesday till May 24; punctuality of staff and to take actions against irregular, indiscipline and unpunctual staff.
