Dried ginger, turmeric despatches for Mumbai

Imphal, July 12 2025:
Dried organic ginger and turmeric weighing 16 metric tonnes, produced in the state, were despatched for Mumbai on Saturday, and the consignment was flagged off by Commissioner (Horticulture & Soil Conservation) Thuithanglung Panmei.
The consignment of organic products, arranged by Chak-hao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Limited and facilitated by the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), was flagged off from the Organic Outlet near the gate of state horticulture head office near Sanjenthong.
The flagging-off ceremony was also attended by director (Horticulture & Soil Conservation) K Devdutta Sharma, MOMA project director Soubam Donald, and officials of North East Finance Corporation Limited, Imphal branch.
After flagging off the consignment, Thuithanglung Panmei told media persons that the department has been continuously helping farmers to improve their economy and facilitating the sale of their products.
The consignment of 10 MT of dried ginger and 6 MT of turmeric sent to Mumbai was part of the department's ongoing programme.
He also informed that queen variety pineapples grown in the state had recently been sent to New Delhi and there was a huge demand, with stockists now requesting more consignments.
K Devdutta Sharma also told media persons that the department has been facilitating markets for fresh and processed organic products produced by farmers of the state under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) .
The consignment sent to Mumbai on Saturday, arranged and facilitated by Chak-hao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Limited, MOMA, and North East Finance Corporation Limited, will be procured by the buyer IBC Agro Private Limited, Mumbai.
