AMESCO to organise Ningol Chakkouba at Tengnoupal

Imphal, October 16 2022: All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) will organise Ningol Chakkouba festival at Thamlai village in Tengnoupal district on October 27 .

In a release, AMESCO publicity secretary W Deepu informed that since 1992 it has been organising events to strengthen the bond between different ethnic groups settling in the state and celebrating Ningol Chakkouba since 1992 in various parts of the state.

Thamlai Village in Tengnoupal district will be the 128th on its list of organising the festival, the secretary said.

Highlighting importance of the festival in cementing the bond of love and affection between daughters/sisters with their parents and male siblings, the secretary urged all the women folks to attend the festival wearing their respective traditional attires and bring the customary gifts that are produced locally rather than those from outside the state.
