Meritorious students, achievers felicitated

Thoubal, June 14 2025: District Library Cum Youth Centre (DLCYC), Athokpam, organised its 17th award distribution programme for meritorious students and other achievers of the locality at the centre's building on Saturday.

The programme was attended by Khangabok MLA Okram Surjakumar as chief guest and DLCYC vice-president Dr Th Priyokumar as president, while Khangabok ex-MLA Okram Landhoni Devi and Thoubal Municipal Council caretaker chairperson Kh Bishworjit were guests of honour.

During the event, 65 meritorious students who cleared Class X and XII exams conducted by CBSE, BSEM, and COHSEM, two assistant professors and one associate professor who recently earned their PhD degrees, two national-level players, and three senior citizens were honoured with shawls, citations, trophies, mementoes, and cash prizes.

Addressing the event, MLA O Surjakumar said that the consolatory views shared on social media by the people of the state on the death of two women from the state in the Air India plane crash may be an opportunity to bring reconciliation and peace in the state.

Observing the problems being faced by students of the state since the COVID-19 outbreak, he also appealed to local clubs and organisations to extend support in ensuring students can compensate for the study time lost due to various issues.
