ABPSSP team visits relief camp at Lamboikhongnangkhong, conducts medical camp

As part of their two-day visit to Manipur, a delegation of 18 members from the Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP), led by Maj Gen J S Nanda, SM, President ABPSSP Punjab, visited the Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp in Uripok today.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) during the visit, organised a Medical Camp and distributed essential items and rations to the camp residents.
The ABPSSP team's itinerary included a visit to Govindajee Temple and the Khongjom War Memorial before arriving at the relief camp.
After interacting with the inmates, they were hosted for lunch at the Raj Bhavan, followed by a cultural evening at Chandrakirti Auditorium, showcasing Manipur's rich heritage.
On the second day, the team is scheduled to attend the Moirang Utsav at INA Museum and visit another relief camp in Churachandpur.
At the Uripok camp, Assam Rifles provided medical assistance including dental, paediatric, and eye care services, along with medicines to 730 people.
The ABPSSP team interacted with displaced families and shared information about various welfare schemes available to them.
They also distributed gift hampers to 19 newborn babies in the camp.
The visit was well-received by the residents, who expressed gratitude and requested more such initiatives including skill development programmes for the youth.
Assam Rifles continues to stand by the people of Manipur, reaffirming its role not just as a security force, but also as a pillar of humanitarian support in the region.
