FOCS urges authority to revoke 'vacate' order

Imphal, May 31 2025: Terming unfortunate the order issued by the government asking displaced persons to vacate Langol Game Village quarter currently occupied by IDPs particularly those who fled Moreh in the ongoing violence since May 3, 2023, the Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS), Manipur appealed to authority concerned to the revoke the order.

Addressing media persons at FOCS office at Kabo Leikai on Saturday, FOCS president BM Yaima Shah said that the displaced persons occupied government quarters at Langol Game Village with the approval of the government as they had no place to live.

They have been living in awful condition for more than two years now and it would be unfair to vacate them forcibly.

He demanded the government to arrange alternative place where the displaced persons could live happily if it requires vacation of the government quarters.
