Imphal, May 26 2025: Changangei Apunba Lup (CAL) staged a sit-in protest today, demanding the removal of fences allegedly erected by the Kia Motors store owner, which block the path/entryway and affect families in Thangjam Leirak.

The protesters at Changangei Thangjam Leirak vowed to intensify their agitation if the fences are not removed.

Speaking to the media, Laishram Tomba, a protester, claimed that the path/entryway was blocked on May 24 with tin sheet fences, cutting off access for many families.

He claimed that the Kia Motors owner blocked the path, citing land coverage in his dag number, without considering the affected families' plight.

Tomba further alleged that the fences were erected with Central forces deployed, and the path was even dug up to obstruct access.

He urged the Kia Motors store owner to properly demarcate his land and take action accordingly.
