Wangoi MLA Kh Loken inspects projects

The State has regressed by 20-30 years owing to the ongoing violence, stated Wangoi MLA Kh Loken, while appealing to the people not to disrupt development projects.
The on Friday assessed progress of ongoing development projects being taken up at different places of Wangoi assembly constituency including road development, black-topping and construction of 17 open gyms.
During the inspection visit, Kh Loken told media persons that the ongoing violence is hindering effective execution of development projects.
He, however, noted that there are signs of gradual return to peace, and appealed to the people not to obstruct development projects.
According to MLA Loken, Manipur has a limited window for development as the state receives high rainfall each year, due to which it is crucial to accelerate development projects before the onset of the rainy season to make the most of the available time for progress.
Regarding the ongoing development projects in his constituency, Kh Loken said that open gyms are being constructed at 17 different localities with nine almost complete and ready for inauguration next month.
He further informed that inter-village roads in Wangoi AC will be widened and developed with paver blocks instead of black-topping as the former has proven to be mote weather resistant.
The MLA also inspected progress of open gyms being constructed at Irom Meijrao Mamang Leikai, Samurou Mayai Leikai, Naorem Chaprou, Thiyam Leishangkhong, Laiphrakpam Mayai Leikai, Mutum Phibou Makha Leikai and Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai Saru Lampak as well as improvement of Thongkhong Laxmi bazar to Paobitek inter-village road and construction of a library in memory of his late daughter at Top Siphai.
