In the light of the current unsettling situation in Jiribam, All Jiribam Muslim Welfare Society (AJMWS) has announced restrictions on recreational and entertainment activities associated with the Eid-ul-Aadha festival as resolved in a meeting convened by the Society in Sonapur, Jiribam.
In a release, AJMWS stated that the Eid-ul-Aadha Namaz will be conducted at the local Masjids.
The Society has restricted mass gatherings for prayers at Eidghas in Muslim areas of Jiribam, as solidarity to the people who are suffering due to the ongoing turmoil in the district.
The Society also resolved to permit only essential prayers and necessary activities.
Acknowledging gravity of the situation, the Society decided to include a special prayer on Eid day, seeking the help of the Almighty for the restoration of peace and normalcy, and for the peaceful rest of the souls who have perished in the ongoing violence.
AJMWS also appealed to all Muslim residents in Jiribam to avoid unnecessary movement within the district.
