UPF appeals for participation in mass rally, meet

United People's Front (UPF), Manipur president Nongthombam Rupachandra has appealed to the public to participate in the mass rally and valedictory programme of the National Reconsolidation Month observance on Thursday.
Addressing the media at UPF's Keishamthong Laishom Leirak Machin, N Rupachandra stated that the Front has been observing National Reconsolidation Day every year.
The month-long observance for this year began at Chandrapur, Cachar, Assam on December 22 followed by programmes in three other areas of Assam, offering of floral tributes to the martyrs in Jiribam district on January 2, poster campaign, public meeting, street corner meeting and camera meeting across the state.
Rupachandra further disclosed that on Thursday, the organisation will join the public in paying floral tributes to 'Iningthou' Gambhir Singh at his memorial at Canchipur, which then will be followed by a mass rally culminating with a public meeting at Hao Ground, Singjamei Chingamathak.
Stating that similar programmes will also be organised at Chandrapur and Awapali, Assam and in Jiribam district, he urged the public to attend the rally and public meeting.
