Imphal, January 19 2023: On behalf of BJP Manipur Pradesh and the State Government, Chief Minister N Biren has welcomed the BJP National Executive Council's decision to extend the term of BJP National president JP Nadda till June 2024 and fight the next Lok Sabha election under his presidentship.

Speaking to media persons at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh here today, N Biren said that the BJP National Executive Council held a meeting for two days on January 16 and 17 at Delhi.

The meeting resolved to extend the term of JP Nadda till June 2024 and fight the next Lok Sabha election under his presidentship.

On behalf of BJP Manipur Pradesh and the State Government, Biren conveyed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, members of BJP National Executive Council and all party workers for extending the term of JP Nadda.

People across the world are witnesses to the condition of India before 2014 and the changes brought in the country during the last eight years and a half, Biren said.

Successful production of two indigenous Covid vaccines within a period of nine months at the height of the Covid pandemic, vaccination of all the people of India and supplying Covid vaccines to 101 countries under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are some major achievements the country made in the recent years, he said.

During the past eight years and a half, India, which occupied 1 Oth position in the world economic index, jumped to the 4th position.

Transformation of India as a leading exporting country, forward movement towards the goal of 'One India' from having two Constitutions and two flags after scrapping Article 370, construction of Ram Janma Bhoomi temple, abolition of triple talaq and lifting of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the North East are some other major achievements, Biren listed.

He also hailed the Prime Minister for these achievements.

Initiation of dialogue process with militants instead of engaging them militarily, advancement in sports, import of oil and gas from Russia in the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war and Narendra Modi's bold statement that it was not time for war are also noteworthy events, Biren said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi successfully halted the Russia-Ukraine war in order to evacuate Indian citizens from the two countries in 90 flights.

It was the power given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the people of India including Manipur which enabled the Central Government to provide foodgrains to 1.40 crore people free of cost, Biren continued.

According to Biren, Narendra Modi gave a message that he was able to serve the country as the Prime Minister because of people's faith in BJP.

Talking about G-20 Summit events which would be hosted by the State, the Chief Minister said that a business summit would be held for two days on February 17 and 18 at the City Convention Centre.

Apart from visiting Ibudhou Marjing Polo Statue, Govindaji Temple, Moirang INA complex, Moirang Khunou Ethnic Park and Olympian Park, the G-20 leaders/delegates would enjoy a boat ride at Loktak Lake, Biren said Saying that all the G-20 countries are capable of investing in the State, the Chief Minister asserted that it would do well for the State to highlight its potential when the foreign leaders visit the State.

He also urged the people to welcome the foreign delegates with open arms and keep all major roads neat and clean.

Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's politics is based on close connection with the masses, Biren maintained that Ministers and officials need to interact with widows and people of border areas and put up the night at those far off places, if necessary.

He asserted that development should start from border areas.
