Scribes testify on Gwaltabi incident

Imphal, June 07 2025: In connection with the recent Gwaltabi incident, the journalists involved in the incident presented their statements to the inquiry committee at the Secretariat on Saturday morning.

On Saturday at 11 am, the journalists involved in the incident provided their statements to the Enquiry Committee at the office chamber of secretary N Ashok Kumar after a briefing.

Statements from the journalists were recorded.

The Committee, after collecting all the statements and completing all the necessary processes, is likely to submit the report by June 13.Later, representatives of the two bodies met the Governor, following which an inquiry committee consisting of Home secretary N Ashok Kumar and secretary (IT) Th Kirankumar was constituted.

An order was also given to the committee to submit the report within 15 days.

In addition, the media had also announced a boycott of all government news including news related to central and state forces.
