Challenge to Manipur threat to India's integrity: Joykisan

Thangmeiband MLA Khumukcham Joykisan on Saturday said that any challenge to the unity, integrity and identity of Manipur is akin to threatening the integrity of India.
He was speaking as chief guest at the felicitation function of meritorious students from Thangmeiband assembly constituency, organised by Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) at the Khoyathong multipurpose hall.
Joykisan specified that Article 1 of the Constitution states that India is a union of states, and added that Manipur is part of this union.
Challenging Manipur's identity is a direct challenge to the integrity of the nation, he asserted.

The MLA appreciated the courage of the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor but expressed dissatisfaction over their conduct in the ongoing Manipur crisis.
He opined that there might be efforts to tarnish the image of the Indian Army in the state and called on the authorities to examine the hidden hands behind such developments and the threats to Manipur's identity.
Highlighting TAKDO's contin ued efforts to encourage academic excellence, Joykisan said many students previously felicitated by the organisation had gone on to become doctors, engineers and successful professionals.
He noted that honouring meritorious students is not only a celebration of their achievements but also a motivation for them to aim higher.
He emphasised the importance of self-motivation as the key to success.
The function, held in two sessions, was attended by BJP Thangmeiband Mandal president M Rajendro, retired IPS officer Gonglin Phaomei, Shri Marwari Dharamsala president Bichhay Patni, TAKDO Tribal Forum president Rengshokhel Jeite, Punjabi Samaj executive member Manmeet Singh Arora, and TAKDO advisor Maibam Inakkhunbi.
