National Library Week observed

State Central Library, Imphal, Department of Art & Culture, and Manipur Library Association (MALA) jointly observed the 'National Library Week' at State Central Library auditorium, here, on Friday.
The observance was attended by Manipur University's Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) head Dr Ch Ibohal Singh as chief guest, State Central Library chief librarian Rk Urmila Devi as president and MALA president Rk Rameswor Singh as guest of honour.
During the programme, Manipur University of Culture librarian Dr Th Khomdon Singh, and MALA ex-presidents K Inaocha and L Sobita Devi elaborated on the importance of observing library week, said a release of State Central Library.
Meanwhile, People's Library commenced observance of National Library Week at its Yumnam Huidrom hall on Thursday.
A release issued by People's Library informed that after the inauguration programme held with MALA president Rk Rameswor and People's Library secretary Yumnam Rajenkumar as presidium members, a discourse on 'Library's gift for a wiser civilisation' was conducted.
