Meanwhile, the 'Jungle Cutting' pesticide used to clear the shrubbery in the area started flowing down the rivers during the mon soon season, slowing poisoning the waters flowing through the valley.
On top of this, usage of chemical fertilisers and pesticides for farming also increased the level of toxicity, putting the health of the people at risk.
Thus, all of these converged into the second Seven Years' Devastation that we are all facing at present.
The MAC continued that the attack by Myanmar-based Kuki militants to disintegrate Manipur has been going on for more than nine months.
With the aim of "controlling" the violence, the Indian government despatched around two lakh Indian Occupational Force (IOF) to Manipur.
However, there is no sign of the violence being controlled even after nine months.
Instead, the IOF seems to be aiding the aggressor Kukis.
As such, the people of Manipur need to understand and ask the real reason for this, in addition to working together to protect and save the indigenous populace. The MAC also extended warm greetings to the people and all leaders and members of the Front on the occasion of the 37th raising day of MPA.
The committee also paid respect to members of MPA and from other allied groups, who sacrificed their lives in the independence movement, and also to all those who have laid down their lives during the conflict for the motherland, while sharing the grief of the bereaved families.
