'Lairik Haiba-Theeba' festival underway

Imphal, January 24 2025: The three-day state-level festival of Lairik Haiba-Theeba' (Patha), organised by the Sat Sanga Goura Samproday, began on Friday at Thanga Moirangthem community hall, with Loktak Development Authority (LDA) chairman M Asnikumar attending the inauguration function as the chief guest.

JN Manipur Dance Academy director Bilash Pukhrambam, Thanga ZP former member Dinesh Singh, Sat Sanga Goura Samproday president M Mangibabu and storyteller and State Kala Akademi awardee Athokpam Birbabu also attended the event.

In his address, Asnikumar brought out the relevance of Sanatana Dharma in addressing today's social and moral challenges.

He highlighted its role in harmonising spiritual growth with societal development, noting that its principles rooted in Ahimsa and Karma could provide pathways to overcome conflicts and moral degradation.

Joining the discourse, Bilash Pukhrambam spoke about the balance Sanatana Dharma offers in promoting spirituality, discipline, and inner peace.

He also echoed its relevance as a framework for achieving harmony and fulfilment in life.

Over the next two days, the festival will feature farther discussions, readings, and activities centred on the teachings of Sanatana Dharma, fostering self-realisation and societal harmony.
