Imphal, October 19 2024:
The Lions Club of Imphal Excellence, under the banner of Lions Club International District 322D, organised its annual Peace Poster Contest at Shemrock School, Ayangpali Road, Imphal on Saturday.
The contest, organised under the theme "Peace without limits: Bringing peace to the world, one child at a time," aimed to encourage young students to envision and express their concepts of peace through artistic creativity.
Students in the age group of 11 to 13 participated in the contest presenting their own interpretations of peace, and hopes for a harmonious world.
In his opening address, Lions Club of Imphal Excellence president Sapam Anand emphasised the role of creativity in fostering peace.
"Each poster represents a voice of hope and the belief that peace is attainable through our-collective efforts, starting with the youth," Anand stated.
A panel of local artists and educators judged the entries based on creativity, originality, and the power of the message.
The winners of the competition will be announced on October 22, and the prize distribution ceremony will be held on November 13 during the club's charter night.
The event highlighted the Lions Club's mission to involve communities in peace-building efforts.
"By empowering children to express their ideas on peace, we are planting seeds for a better tomorrow," said a club member.
