Imphal, June 14 2024:
Directorate of Environment and Climate Change director Dr Tourangbam Brajakumar has stated that it is the responsibility of each one of us to ensure and leave behind a safe and sustainable environment for the future generations.
He made the statement while speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function of a five-day Photo Contest cum Exhibition, jointly organised by Manipur Amateur Photo Club and Directorate of Environment and Climate Change as part of the month-long observance of World Environment Day 2024, at Imphal Arts Gallery, here, on Friday.
Dr Brajakumar continued that not only it is laudable to see every section of the society trying their best to conserve the environment, it is even better that many environmental activists are coming forward to save the environment.
Stating that humans have no other place to live except on planet Earth, he said that it is not the environment which is harming us but humans who are causing destruction to the environment.
The environmental condition is degrading day-by-day and threatening the existence of all living beings.
Thus, each one of us needs to utilise whatever platform we have to save the environment, emphasised the director.
