Sports and cultural meet organised

Quiz, pencil sketching, floor decoration, mono acting and dance competitions were held and winners were awarded prizes on the third-day of the Annual State Level Sports and Cultural Meet 2024 jointly organised by Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) Manipur State Branch and Student Nurses' Association of India (SNAI) Manipur State Branch.
Speaking at the meet held at College of Nursing, Medical Directorate, Lamphel on Saturday, TNAI Manipur State Branch president N Tangbi stated that the meet was organised to showcase the personality, talent and team work among the nursing students of the state and to facilitate a platform to exchange ideas among them.
The meet is being participated by 14 BSc nursing colleges, three MSc nursing colleges, five Post Basic BSc institutes, 14 GNM institutes and three ANM institutes, while four nursing institutes from Churachandpur, one each from Chandel, Kangpokpi and Dewlahland are unable to participate due the current crisis in the state, she added.
Tangbi also informed that the meet started on May 2 at Khuman Lam-pak with Shija Hospital & Research Institute managing director Dr Palin Khundongbam attending the opening function as chief guest and Youth Affairs & Sports director T Phulen Meitei as president.
She continued that the sporting events such as 100 metre race, 400 metre race, javelin throw and discuss throw were held on the opening day, while the second day was marked with single and double badminton tournament, poster, essay, extempore speech and spot painting competitions.
Tangbi further conveyed that Mr and Miss Contest will be held on May 12 on the occasion on International Nurses Day at JNIMS Auditorium, while adding that winners of the competitions will represent the state at national level meet.
