Two held in Thangal Bazar assault case

Imphal, December 26 2024: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the assault of four people, including two women, near Khalsa Medicos, Thangal Bazar under City police station on December 22 .

The arrested duo has been identified as Mutum Mangal Meitei (29), s/o M Brajamani Meitei, and Pukhrambam Nongpoknganba (26), s/o Biramohon Singh of Uripok Khaidem Leikai.

According to a police report, on December 22 around 7 pm, two youths on a two-wheeler thrashed the four people including two women, a video of which went viral on social media.

In this regard, City police registered a sou-moto case and launched investigation and subsequent arrest Mangai and Nongpoknganba on Wednesday.

The two were produced before the duty magistrate Imphal West, which remanded them to five days in police custody.
