Imphal, May 26 2025: Internally Displaced People (IDPs) from Moreh and Churachandpur staged a sit in protest at Langol Game Village Zone-III relief camp today demanding immediate resignation of the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and the Security Advisor.

Placards with messages "Withdraw President's Rule (PR) from Manipur" and "We Want a Popular Government" were displayed during the protest demonstration organised by Meitei Council Moreh (MCM) under the supervision of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI).

The protesters also chanted slogans calling for the resignation of the Governor, Chief Secretary, DGP, and Security Advisor.

Speaking to the media, Moirangthem Asharani, an IDP, said that their hopes of peace returning to Manipur and being able to go back home after the imposition of PR have been dashed.

She said the Governor's silence on the Gwaltabi incident where a State transport bus was stopped from going to Ukhrul because of the word 'Manipur' on its windshield, has greatly offended the people's sentiments.
