DA-JGUA launched in Tamenglong

The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was officially launched at SDO office complex in Tamenglong district on Friday with Tamenglong ADC CEO Kachamthai F Gangmei as chief guest and additional SP Josiah T Pamei as guest of honour.
Informing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the DA-JGUA in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on October 2 this year, Kachamthai said that with an outlay of over Rs 79,156 crore, the scheme aims to address gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood development across approximately 63,843 tribal villages.
He also expressed hope that the said scheme will benefit over five crore tribal people across 549 districts and 2911 blocks spanning 30 states and Union Territories (UTs).
According to the CEO, the programme has integrated 25 interventions across 17 ministries and central government departments.
The programme held in the presence of Tamenglong SDO D Meidinbui, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur president KC Savio and village leaders and citizens from surrounding areas, also commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of 'Dharti Aaba Bhagwan' Birsa Munda observed as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2024.As a part of the event, Kei-hiamlung Panmei presented a folk song while traditional dance was performed by artistes of Liangmai Naga Puimai Ruangdi (Liangmai Naga Union) .
