Rayburn College, CCpur granted autonomous status

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has given its approval for grant of autonomous status to Rayburn College, BSF, Gangpimual, Churachandpur.
The decision, made during the UGC meeting on November 3, 2023, follows recommendation of the Standing Committee on Autonomous Colleges.
With the latest addition, the state now has three autonomous colleges, the other two being Don Bosco College, Maram in Senapati district, and Oriental College, Takyelpat in Imphal West district.
The autonomous status, granted for a period of five years, spans from the academic year 2024-2025 to 2028-2029, in accordance with clause 7.4 of the UGC (Conferment of Autonomous Status upon Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023.The UGC has intimated to Manipur University to issue the necessary notification within 30 days for formalising the autonomous status granted to Rayburn College.
The college is expected to adhere to all the provisions outlined in the UGC Regulations for Autonomous Colleges, available on the UGC website, www.ugc.gov.in.
Failure to comply with the stipulated requirements and conditions may result in actions as per Clause 13 of the UGC Regulations.
As part of the conditions, Rayburn College is obligated to apply to UGC for an extension of autonomous status at least three months before the completion of the autonomy period.
